Eye Emergencies
Same-day appointments and walk-in care for urgent eye conditions.
Emergencies we handle
Our doctors are trained and equipped to evaluate and treat a wide range of urgent eye conditions. Here are some of the most common reasons patients come to us for emergency care.
Trauma, Cuts and Scratches
Corneal abrasions, lacerations, and blunt trauma to the eye or surrounding area. Even minor scratches can become serious if left untreated.
Foreign Objects
Metal, wood, dust, or other debris stuck in the eye or under the eyelid. We have the tools to safely locate and remove foreign bodies and assess any damage.
Burns and Chemical Exposure
Chemical splashes, thermal burns, and exposure to irritants. Time is critical with chemical injuries. Flush the eye with water and get to us as quickly as possible.
Eye Infections
Bacterial, viral, and fungal infections including severe conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, and orbital cellulitis. Prompt treatment prevents complications and protects your vision.
Blunt Injuries
Impact injuries from sports, falls, or accidents. Even if the eye looks fine, blunt force can cause internal bleeding, retinal damage, or increased eye pressure.
Photic Retinopathy
Damage to the retina from intense light exposure, such as staring at the sun, welding arcs, or laser pointers. Symptoms include blurred central vision and color distortion.
Sudden Vision Loss
Any sudden or dramatic change in vision needs immediate evaluation. This includes sudden blurriness, loss of peripheral vision, a curtain or shadow across your visual field, or a sudden increase in floaters and flashes. These can signal retinal detachment, stroke, or other serious conditions.
