Contact Lens Exam
Expert fitting for first-time and experienced contact lens wearers.
We make the first time easy
Trying contact lenses for the first time can feel intimidating. That is completely normal. We walk you through every step, from the initial fitting to insertion and removal training, so you feel confident before you leave the office.
Our team is patient and encouraging. There is no rushing. We will make sure you are comfortable handling your lenses and understanding your care routine before you go.
We also schedule follow-up visits to check how your lenses are performing and make any adjustments needed. Getting the right fit sometimes takes a visit or two, and that is all part of the process.
What to expect during your exam
A contact lens exam includes everything in a standard eye exam, plus additional testing specific to contact lens fitting.
Vision and Eye Health Assessment
We start with a comprehensive eye exam to check your vision and overall eye health. This ensures your eyes are healthy enough for contact lens wear and identifies any conditions that might affect your lens options.
Corneal Measurements
We measure the curvature and diameter of your cornea, evaluate your tear film, and assess the surface of your eyes. These measurements help us select lenses that fit properly and stay comfortable all day.
Trial Lens Fitting
Based on your measurements and prescription, we select trial lenses for you to try. You will wear them for a short period so we can evaluate the fit, comfort, and vision. We may try more than one option to find the best match.
Final Prescription and Follow-Up
Once we find the right lens, we finalize your contact lens prescription. We will schedule a follow-up visit to make sure everything is working well after you have had a chance to wear them in your daily life.
Types of lenses we fit
There is no one-size-fits-all contact lens. We fit a wide range of lens types to match your prescription, eye shape, and lifestyle.
