Dry Eye Doctor in Sunnyside, Washington

Burning, gritty or watery eyes, evaluated at our office inside Walmart on E Lincoln Ave. We find the cause first, then treat it.

Quick answer

Yes, dry eye is evaluated and treated in Sunnyside

Everyday Eye Care sees dry eye patients at 2675 E Lincoln Ave, Sunnyside, WA 98944, inside Walmart. If your eyes burn, feel gritty, water all day or get tired on screens, call (509) 839-4575 and ask for a dry eye evaluation. We find out what is causing it and build a plan you can follow here.

Most dry eye is not a shortage of tears. The usual cause is meibomian gland dysfunction: the oil glands in the eyelids clog, the tear film loses its oil layer and evaporates too fast. Drops replace water for an hour. Finding and treating the cause is what changes how your eyes feel by the end of the day.

Signs

Signs it is worth a dry eye visit

If any of these keep coming back, or drops only help for a little while, it is time to find out why.

Burning or stinging

Often worse by evening, after screens, driving or time in dry, windy air.

Gritty, sandy feeling

Like something is in the eye when nothing is there.

Watery eyes

A dry surface triggers reflex tearing, so eyes that run all day can still be dry eyes.

Blur that clears with a blink

An unstable tear film breaks up between blinks and smears your vision.

Tired eyes on screens

We blink less while we concentrate, and the surface dries out.

Contacts that will not stay comfortable

Lenses that felt fine for years now need to come out by mid-afternoon.

Questions

Dry eye in Sunnyside: FAQ

Where can I get dry eye treatment in Sunnyside?

At Everyday Eye Care, 2675 E Lincoln Ave in Sunnyside, inside Walmart. Call (509) 839-4575 and ask for a dry eye evaluation. The office sees patients on Fridays, 9:00 to 5:30.

Is there a dry eye specialist near me in the Yakima Valley?

Yes. Our doctors evaluate and manage dry eye at the Sunnyside office, which is about 11 minutes from Grandview, 19 from Prosser and 27 from Toppenish. If in-office treatment is the right next step, it is done at our Pasco Dry Eye Center.

Is IPL for dry eye done in Sunnyside?

No. IPL, MiBo Thermoflo and low-level light therapy, the three parts of our Dry Eye Trifecta, are performed at our Pasco office on Road 68, about 50 minutes from Sunnyside. Your evaluation and follow-up visits can stay in Sunnyside.

Why are my eyes watery if they are dry?

When the surface of the eye dries out, it sends a signal for emergency tears. Those reflex tears are mostly water and run off quickly, so they do not fix the dryness. Watery eyes are one of the most common dry eye complaints we see.

Why do eye drops only help for a little while?

Artificial tears add moisture to the surface, but most dry eye comes from clogged oil glands in the eyelids, so the tear film keeps evaporating too fast. Treating the glands is what lasts longer than a drop.

How much does dry eye treatment cost?

The evaluation may be partly covered by medical insurance. The in-office Dry Eye Trifecta is self-pay: $1,700 for the 4-treatment program, with Cherry financing available. We go over the cost with you before anything is scheduled.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can call the Sunnyside office directly. We also welcome referrals from other eye doctors and primary care providers.

Do you have Spanish-speaking help?

Yes. Spanish interpreters are available at all of our offices, including Sunnyside. Se habla español.
